A truly unique opportunity!  We are selling our beautiful 1985 Hans Christian 48T.  “Liward” has been imported to French Polynesia with the duty paid, so she can sail in these beautiful islands as long as desired, even forever!  On board, there are adequate spares for all the systems to support extended cruising.  Liward is a classic design and receives compliments in every anchorage!  Her interior represents the finest craftsmanship with beautiful teak woodwork throughout.  Hans Christians are legendary in seaworthiness with excellent motion in all conditions, as well as outstanding performance under all points of sail. 

French Polynesia has over 1200 nautical miles of some of the finest cruising on earth, with 5 major island groups.     Liward is the perfect boat to fulfill your dreams, sailing in these islands or continuing around the world!

The Hans Christian 48 was designed and constructed to be the ultimate blue water cruiser.  Her cutaway forefoot full keel with integrated rudder, canoe stern, and oversized rigging makes her capable and strong on the open sea.  Liward was built in the Hansa yard in Taiwan which was known for their craftmanship and quality.  There is massive amounts of storage which is great for prolonged cruising.    With the same owners, for over 38 years, Liward has been meticulously maintained with only the highest standards of materials and workmanship.    She is an extremely comfortable home and capable cruising vessel.  Her sturdy construction, classic design, and unprecedented safety make her a great choice for serious cruising or for living aboard in port.

  • Custom davits, arch, and stern pulpit with hard rails to midship (316 SS electro-polished).  These davits complement the lines of the boat and provide improved functionality and safety.

  • Custom built Bow Pulpit (316 SS).  Improving the strength and maintenance
